AMU suspends 21 students for misrepresentation, forgery

Aligarh: The Aligarh Muslim University has suspended 21 students of Zakir Husain College of Engineering and Technology from the rolls of the University pending enquiry for committing forgery, cheating, misrepresenting and concealing relevant facts and producing forged documents while seeking admission to the B. Tech. course of the University.

AMU Proctor, Dr. Khursheed A. Khan through an Office memo clarified that the committee constituted by the Vice Chancellor to oversee the admissions to B. Tech. course for the session 2011-2012, in its report under the Chairmanship of the Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology had revealed the fact that these students in order to obtain the admission in aforesaid course committed forgery, cheating, misrepresenting and concealed relevant facts and produced forged documents and committed different acts of indiscipline and misconduct specified under Part-II, Rules 4 (x), (xi), (xvi), (xxii), (xxiii) & (xxviii) or AMU Students’ Conduct and Discipline Rules, 1985.

Dr. Khan further said that on the basis of these charges they have been placed under suspension with immediate effect from the rolls of the University, till the completion of inquiry. The University premises and its maintained institutions have also been placed out of bounds for them with immediate effect.

These students are Rishu Alam, Azad Saqib, Mohd. Mohiuddin, Waseem Ahmad, Mohd. Ali Ahmad, Shah Alam, Sami Zafar, Ahmad Zaki, Devi Lal, Mohd. Bilal Ashrafi, Mohd. Shabab Khan, Ashok Kumar Ojha, Muzammil Hasan Rahmani, Saghir Ahmad, Azim Ahmad, Mohd. Khalid Khan, Sanaullah, Mohd. Danish, Nisar Alam, Mirza Ateequr Rahman Beg and Ghazanfar Ali Khan.
