The announcement followed the visit of a 16-member delegation comprising teachers and students from UWI, St. Augustine campus, Trinidad and Tobago, to the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU).

‘Understanding Global Cultures’ will allow students to visit India every year, explore and experience its heritage, culture and modern development, write a report and get themselves evaluated, said a statement.

“The students will visit the country at their own expense,” an IGNOU statement said.

“The visit of the delegation was a result of the Trinidad and Tobago prime minister’s visit to India in January this year.
