PFI demands central probe into rumors against NE people

New Delhi: Popular Front of India has demanded the Central Government to conduct a probe to find out the culprits who spread rumors terrorizing people from North East region of the country. He categorically refuted allegation that PFI could be involved in rumor mongering.

PFI General Secretary K. M. Shareef, through a letter addressed to Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde has urged “an impartial investigation at the central level to find out those who spread rumours to terrorise North-East citizens studying or working in different [parts] of the country.

He denied any involvement of Popular Front in this issue and expressed the suspicion that “such reports are nothing but, yet another round of malicious propaganda by the vested interest groups and communal sections against the organisation.”

K. M. Shareef has also requested the Home Minister to take necessary steps to cleanse the intelligence and security apparatus by identifying and taking action against those elements who acts as tools of communal outfits.
