Talking to reporters during his monthly press conference, Shinde said his ministry had received seven cases from President Pranab Mukherjee. These included Guru’s case.

Asked about the mercy plea of Guru, who is accused of collaborating with terrorists who attacked the Indian parliament in 2001, Shinde said a decision to reject his application was taken earlier.

“When the winter session is over, I will look into it. I can’t tell you a date,” he said. The winter session of parliament concludes Dec 20.

The minister said there was no request from Pakistan or Ajmal Kasab’s family to hand over the body of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack convict who was hanged last month.
