UP CM visits Faizabad Visit; hand over cheques to riot victims

Faizabad: Riot victims of Faizabad violence were handed over relief cheques by Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday, December 11.

CM Akhilesh Yadav also stated during the function that his government would deal with trouble makers out to disrupt social harmony with a firm hand and added that the state would not be allowed to be divided on the lines of caste and religion.



He further underlined that his government was working for the enhancing social harmony and brotherhood.

CM Akhilesh Yadav distributed cheques worth Rs 1.67 crores to the 198 victims of the clashes that erupted during the idol immersion in Faizabad on October 24 this year.

Expressing sorrow at the incident, he said this money was being given as a financial assistance to them to begin a new life. He also gave away an ex gratia amount of Rs 4.5 lakh respectively through cheques to Anamika and Sajjul Nisan whose husbands were killed in the clashes.

Rs 50000 have already been paid to them earlier. He congratulated the people of Faizabad and Ayodhya for not allowing mischief makers to succeed in their nefarious designs to disrupt communal and social harmony.
