Kolkata : Private insurer Religare Health Insurance Tuesday said it would start talks with the central and state governments on providing services under the government-sponsored health schemes for below poverty line (BPL) people from January.
“We are planning to work with the central government and state governments to be able to provide services. States have their own health schemes for (BPL) people. So we will talk to the governments,” Anuj Gulati, managing director and CEO, Religare Health Insurance Company Limited, said here.
He added that about 19 percent the country’s Rs.15,000 crore health insurance business comes from the government sector.
Religare has also planned to enter into travel insurance, critical illness, personal accident and disease specific products segment and would launch those products in a phased manner.
