Nairobi: Kenyan police have arrested over 20 suspects in connection with Wednesday’s twin blasts in which at least two people were injured.
The suspects were arrested in the crackdown on those behind the act near Alamin Mosque in the Somali-dominated Eastleigh, said a police official, reported Xinhua.
“We will conduct more swoops in Eastleigh to ensure peace returns there. We have launched investigations to establish exactly what is happening there,” Ombati told Xinhua by telephone on Thursday.
“We are yet not sure who is behind the Wednesday night attack. We suspect the twin explosions were caused by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) and a grenade that had been planted near the mosque,” the official added.
