Panaji: A Nigerian national was arrested here Monday with almost three kg of charas (hashish), worth approximately half a million rupees in the international market, police said.
Anthony Chike, 32, was nabbed in a raid with 2.93 kg charas, which he was allegedly delivering to a customer in a secluded area near the Aguada central prison, located 20 km from here.
“The seized drugs are worth Rs 4.5 lakh (Rs.4500,000) in the international market,” Nilu Rautdesai, a deputy superintendent of police in Goa Police’s anti-narcotics cell, told reporters here.
He further said that Chike had been arrested in 2010 for possession of cocaine and he was currently out on bail.
