In a resolution adopted at the party’s general council meeting here, the DMK charged the central and the state government with having a lackadaisical approach to solving the issue.

The anti-KNPP activists led by the People’s Movement Against Nuclear Energy (PMANE) have been protesting against the nuclear power plant since last year.

The DMK said the inaction on the part of the state government against the protesters gives rise to doubts about its intentions.

The party urged the central and the state governments to act together and find an early solution in the national interest.

For solving the Mullaperiyar Dam dispute with Kerala, the DMK demanded Kerala’s two talukas (revenue sub-divisions) of Devikulam and Peermedu to be annexed to Tamil Nadu.
