Russian officer commits suicide on n-submarine

Moscow : A Russian military officer serving onboard a nuclear submarine has committed suicide, an official said Monday.

Senior Lieutenant Maxim Galkin who served on the Gepard submarine committed suicide Feb 11, said Alexander Kuratov, spokesman for the military investigation committee of the North Fleet.

Galkin hanged himself but a suicide note has not been found, he said.

Investigators are trying to find out whether the officer committed suicide voluntarily or was forced to take his own life.
