Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh state capital Bhopal is going to come face to face with new hues of science during a four-day Science Fair starting here from February 25.
Another attraction of the state’s first National Science Fair will be organisation of Madhya Pradesh Youth Science Congress. It will also be an opportunity to interact with famous scientists of the country.
The Bharatiya Janata Party, (BJP), ruled State Government wants to increase interest of the new generation towards science, especially of student community. With this in view this grand event is being held. Science has entered every household through various equipments and implements of daily use. Now it is necessary that people should also enhance their knowledge about handling these implements. Keeping all these factors in view, Science & Technology Department of the State Government is organising first-ever National Science Fair of the state. Vigyan Bharti institution is also cooperating in holding the Fair being held on the occasion of National Science Day.
Besides famous scientists of the country, national-level institutions and laboratories will also participate in the Science Fair. Apart from introducing people with latest progress of science, small-scale inventors and scientists of the state will also be promoted at the fair. Discussions focusing on various new researches and achievements will also be held. For this purpose, all the necessary efforts will be made for mental development, promotion of innovations and enhancing people’s scientific understanding.
Science & Technology Minister Mr. Kailash Vijayvargiya visited the venue of National Science Fair at Lal Parade Ground here today. He inspected the preparations, which have almost been completed.
According to Mr. Vijayvargiya, the State Government has decided to organise this Science Fair in Madhya Pradesh every year. Through it, talented innovators of villages, small towns as well as cities will be provided a forum. On the occasion, the progress made by the state in recent years will also be highlighted. Students will also have an opportunity to interact with famous scientists of the country. Means of recreation will also be available at the fair with a view to making it interesting. Theme of the fair will be “Vikas Ki Baat Vigyan Ke Saath” (talk of development through science).
Besides science institutions and establishments of the Union and State Governments, the fair is also being participated by prestigious institutions like Council for Scientific and Industrial Research, Defence Research and Development Corporation, BHEL, NTPC and GAIL.
Stalls of the State Government’s Public Health Engineering, Energy, Tourism, Biodiversity departments, Handicraft Development Corporation and Madhya Pradesh Pollution Control Board are also being put at the fair. There will be separate and special stall of Technical Education Department. Industrial houses like Reliance, Ranbaxy, Vardhman, Godrej, Surya Roshni and Satna Cement are also going to participate in the National Science Fair.
