Pakistani woman held for torturing eight-year-old maid

Islamabad : A woman has been arrested in Pakistan’s port city of Karachi for allegedly torturing an eight-year-old housemaid.Fed up with the “agonising screams” of the minor housemaid, Abida, residents of Gulberg Block-10 flats filed a complaint against the woman named Rashida, Geo News reported.

Rashida was accused of beating up her housemaid every day without respite.

Police raided the house and arrested Rashida and took Abida into custody.

The report said the minor girl’s frail body bore many signs of the barbarous acts of her mistress.

Abida was taken to hospital for examination.
