Under the supervision of K. Lakshminarayan, the Joint Commissioner of CBI a task force has been formed to track down Nayeemuddin and A.P. police officials who were involved in this case. These developments came after CBI felt that the state police is not making enough efforts to find the fugitive because of his connections in certain quarters of the A.P. police force.

CBI is under heavy pressure from the Supreme Court which is monitoring the probe to investigate the A.P. link to the fake encounter. The CBI has already questioned senior officers of AP Police in this case, including former director general of police and the intelligence chief of that time K. Arvinda Rao and DIG of intelligence Bala Subramanyam who was SP of Prakasham district. He allegedly booked rooms for the Gujarat police team in the I.P.S officers mess. Another officer is ACP Shamsabad Mr. Ch. Srinivas Rao, who was inspector Rajender Nagar at that period when Sohrabuddin was provided shelter in that area by the police informer Nayeemuddin, but interestingly Mr. Ch. Srinivas Rao didn’t respond to the CBI summons.

The likely arrests of A.P police officers is going to be a big blow to the Congress government in the both state and center which is till recently targeting only Narender Modi and Gujarat police officers for the fake encounter.
