According to police, Mohammed Haji had come to offer prayer at the shrine from Hyderabad along with her sister Sabia and her six-month old boy a few days ago.

“They were staying at a hotel near the shrine in the town, some 150 kilometers from Jaipur. They had come to participate in a qawwali Monday night. While the programme was going on, Sabia fell asleep with the boy on her side,” said a police officer.

He added that Mohammed Haji woke his sister up around 2 a.m. “She found the boy missing. They immediately informed police following which we got the CCTV footage of the room in which the woman slept,” said the officer.

It came up during examination of CCTV footages that a woman sleeping near Sabia crawled up to the boy, took him and escaped around 1 a.m.

“She got about an hour to escape with the boy before police were informed. We rushed teams to the railway station and bus stand in the town. However there was no trace of the woman,” said the officer.

Police are searching for the woman on the basis of the CCTV footage.
