New Delhi: The Central Government has decided to allocate 27% of petrol pump dealership to OBCs implementing the constitutional provisions. The Union Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas disclosed the decision of the government in a press statement on Friday.
The government has revised selection process of Retail Outlet (RO) i.e. Petrol Pump dealership. Draw of Lots will now be introduced in selection of Petrol Pump dealers to make process transparent, said the ministry.
“It has now been decided to give 27% reservation to OBC candidates in allotment of RO dealership. Further, with a view to improve transparency and remove discretion in the selection process, the allotment of RO dealership will henceforth be made by draw of lots,” said the ministry.
“These changes are expected to make the RO allotment in tune with our social objectives and higher standards of transparency,” it added.
