New Delhi : Journalist Syed Mohammed Ahmad Kazmi, arrested for his alleged role the Feb 13 Israeli embassy car bombing attack, Wednesday challenged the order of a Delhi magistrate granting Delhi Police three months to complete the probe.
Kazmi’s counsel Mehmood Pracha told Additional Sessions Judge Surinder S. Rathi that it was a malafide order.
He said the grant of 90 more days for further probe was made to Delhi Police without hearing him.
The additional sessions judge after hearing the defence counsel asked police to file a reply by June 8 and present the case diary.
The magistrate’s court on June 2 gave more time to police for further probe.
Kazmi was arrested March 6. He is being held under judicial custody.
On Feb 13, four people were injured when an Israeli embassy car was struck by a bomb near the Prime Minister’s House in New Delhi area.
Tal Yehoshua Koren, 42, wife of Israeli defence attache Colonel Yossi Refaelov, suffered multiple injuries when a motorcycle rider attached a magnetic explosive device to her car and sped away. Within seconds, the device exploded with a thunderous blast, setting the car on fire. Two occupants in a nearby car also were injured.
