Srinagar: Justice Mahesh Mittal Kumar was sworn in as the new chief justice of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court here Friday.
Governor N.N. Vohra administered the oath of office at Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Complex.
The warrant and the notification of appointment of Justice Mahesh Mittal Kumar as the chief justice was read out by the registrar general of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court at the swearing-in ceremony.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, legislative assembly Speaker Mohammad Akbar Lone, several ministers, high court judges and senior state officials were present at the ceremony.
