Akhilesh reviews projects to decongest Lucknow’s traffic

Lucknow : Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav Saturday ordered timely completion of all projects aimed at solving the traffic problems of Lucknow city.

He directed officials to begin all such projects, barring those which would be affected by the proposed Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS). These would be dealt with later, he added.

Reviewing the progress made in road overbridges, flyovers and roads, the chief minister asked officials to start work at the earliest on conversion of the underpass near the Haathi Park into six lanes and the proposed flyover on the IT College crossing.

Officials were also asked to to consider strengthening of the existing embankment road, from Daliganj Pucca bridge to the Sitapur Road, and repairs of all major roads in the city, specially in the old city.

The chief minister also ordered expedited work on the Shaheed Path Intersection flyover and the Lohia Path.

Other than this, he also directed officials to construct an overbridge over the proposed Harit Park-Pipraghat and the rail tracks on the Sultanpur Road.

He stressed adequate care should be taken to ensure quality and timely completion of the projects
