Nod to highway projects worth Rs.4,814 crore

New Delhi : The government Thursday approved four highway development projects worth Rs.4,814.74 crore spanning several states.

The projects will be carried out on the design, build, finance, operate and transfer (DBFOT) basis in the build, operate and transfer (BOT) toll collection mode.

The cabinet committee on infrastructure (CCI) approved the four- and two-laning of section of national highway-45 (NH 45) in Tamil Nadu.

“The total project cost estimated is Rs.1,402.50 crore out of which Rs.312.50 crore will be towards land acquisition, rehabilitation, resettlement and preconstruction,” CCI said in a statement.

The total length of the project is 164.22 km.

CCI also approved the four-laning of the Gomati Chauraha-Udaipur section on NH 8 in Rajasthan for a stretch of 79.31 km.

“The total project cost estimated is Rs.1,114.27 crore, of which Rs.199.77 crore will be towards land acquisition, rehabilitation, resettlement and preconstruction.”

The third project entails four-laning of the Madurai-Ramanathapuram section on NH 49 in Tamil Nadu. The total length of the project is 115.110 km. The total project cost estimated is Rs.828.07 crore.

The fourth project envisages four-laning of the Chandikhole-Dubari- Talcher section on NH 200 in Orissa. The total project cost is estimated at Rs.1,469.90 crore.
