Jaipur : The Rajasthan cabinet Thursday approved a bill which aims to ensure speedy disposal of corruption cases and seizure or attachment of property of those government servants who have assets disproportionate to their known income, officials here said.
The Rajasthan Special Court Bill, 2012, was approved at a cabinet meeting presided over by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.
As per the draft bill, cases of corruption and disproportionate income are to be disposed of within a period of one year, said a senior government official.
The draft proposes to make attached assets state properties. “Presently, the consent of the state government and a competent court is necessary to seize the property of government officials,” said the official.
The draft has also provision to set up seven new special courts to try corruption cases.
“Seven more special courts for corruption cases will be set up in the state. Six are presently functional in Jaipur, Ajmer, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Kota and Bikaner,” said the official.
The cabinet also approved proposal to amend the Rajasthan Civil Services (Medical Attendance) Rules, 2008, under which treatment can be availed of at any approved hospital within the state by the government employee and a reference from a government hospital for this purpose shall not be necessary. The facility would also be provided to the pensioners and family pension holders.
The proposals related to amendment in rule 4 and rule 13 of the Rajasthan State and Subordinate Services (Direct Recruitment by Combined Competitive Exam) Rules, 1999, was also approved.
The amendments entail raising the upper age limit for appearing in Combined Competitive Examinations for the state government employees to 45 years from the existing 40 years.
