Iraqi minister survives car blast

Baghdad : An Iraqi minister Wednesday escaped unhurt in a car bombing near his convoy in Baghdad but a civilian was killed and four others were injured, Xinhua reported.

The attack took place in Mansour district about 11.30 a.m. when the car bomb went off near the motorcade of Mohammed al-Darraji, minister of reconstruction and housing, an interior ministry source said.

Two of Darraji’s bodyguards were among the wounded. The blast also destroyed several other cars.
