Islamabad : Pakistan’s Interior Minister Rehman A. Malik has said the late Al Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden’s children were free to travel abroad as there were no cases against them.
The minister, however, said adults of Osama’s family, including his three wives, faced cases under the foreigners’ act as they were aware of the laws of Pakistan they violated knowingly, the Geo News reported.
US commandos killed Osama in a secret raid on his hideout in May 2011 in Abbotabad, barely 70 km from the capital city of Islamabad, where he is believed to have lived for nearly five years with his three wives and ten children.
On Thursday, Malik told media that a judicial remand was acquired after filing a case against Osama’s family under the law of the land for entering Pakistan illegally.
Without giving details about of Osama’s family, the minister also said that the five-room building in which the family had been under house-arrest, was not at all a jail, adding it had all the amenities of a “home”.
