Terming the budget “very disappointing” Patnaik also expressed his displeasure at less funds being allocated to Odisha.

“I am extremely disappointed with the Railway budget. Passengers fares have been increased which will adversely affect the common man” Patnaik told reporters here.

“The ministry of railways was requested to allot Rs.2,345 crore for various ongoing projects in the state but only Rs.714 crore has been allotted in this budget for Odisha,” he said.

“This is grossly insufficient considering the requirements of ongoing projects in the states and completely falls short of our demand,” he added.
