New Delhi: Amid claims by the police officials that journalist MA Kazmi was aware of the plot of bomb attack at Israeli diplomat in the national capital, Kazmi’s lawyer moved the court on Thursday against his alleged torture and mental harassment by the investigative officials. The matter is expected to be heard on Saturday 17th March.
Kazmi was arrested on March 6th in connection with the sticky bomb attack on Israeli diplomat on February 13th. He is presently in 20 days of police remand and has been charged with stringent sections of UAPA Act.
Police officials have reportedly claimed that they have got the CCTV footage of Kazmi’s meeting with one of the three Iranians against whom non-bailable warrant has been issued yesterday by a Delhi court.
The meeting had reportedly taken place in a hotel in Paharganj, even though the hotel owner denied any foreigner having ever checked in his hotel specially 4 days before the blast, the day on which police claimed meeting between Kazmi and the Iranian national had taken place.
Shauzab, Kazmi’s son told TwoCircles.net that Kazmi told his lawyer Vijay Agarwal that he was being tortured and was being forced to “confess” the crime.
“We have reasons to believe that my father is being tortured and is being forced to confess. It seems that officials from investigative agencies of Israel like Mossad, are being allowed to interrogate my father,” Shauzab told TCN.
Kazmi’s counsel Agarwal has filed a petition before the chief metropolitan magistrate Vinod Yadav, expressing his apprehensions about Kazmi’s alleged torture.
In the petition Agarwal has requested the court to ensure that no agency other than Delhi Police can interrogate him.
