Islamabad : One woman was killed and 12 people, including six children, were injured when a three-storey building collapsed in Pakistan Multan city Friday night, a media report said.
A tuition centre for children — aged between eight and 14 — operated in the 90-year-old building in the congested Chorhi Bazaar area of the city in Punjab province, Xinhua reported.
Sources said the woman was injured in the incident and later died at a hospital.
An earlier report said 16 people were trapped under the debris.
Initial investigation revealed that the building located in a congested area collapsed due to its age.
Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has sought a report on the incident.
