New Delhi : The CBI has arrested a man from Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport in connection with smuggling of an antique Shiva-Parvati sandstone sculpture outside the country, a CBI official said Thursday.
Manish Kumar, resident of Delhi, was arrested for smuggling a 16th century sandstone sculpture depicting Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.
“During a raid conducted at an air cargo warehouse at IGI Airport the sculpture, which was meant for transport to Hongkong, was seized. It was kept in a box under the label of marble tiles Wednesday. The sculpture is suspected to be stolen,” said the official.
