The application came after two days of the court’s order, rejecting prosecution of Ghandy under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).

Police moved the application before Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Vinod Yadav.

Additional Sessions Judge Pawan Kumar Jain March 28 rejected the police plea to prosecute Ghandy under the stringent UAPA after taking note that there was no proper sanction for it.

However, the court has found sufficient material on record to make out a prima facie case against Ghandy and co-accused Arvind Joshi for cheating, forgery and impersonation.
