Chennai : Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa Wednesday said the country was in a state of drift under the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government.
“The average citizen sees that there is no government at the centre. The country is in a state of drift,” the AIADMK leader said when asked about three years of UPA rule.
Jayalalithaa declined to speculate on the possibility of early Lok Sabha polls.
She declined to offer any fresh comment on the candidature of former Lok Sabha speaker Purno Sangma for the presidential elections.
She said she had requested certain political leaders and parties to support him, and “there is nothing more to add on the subject”.
