New Delhi : Ircon International, the Chhattisgarh government and the South Eastern Coalfields Ltd. (SECL) have signed a pact to build around 300 km of rail corridor for better transportation of coal, a statement said Monday.
The MoU, signed at Raipur Nov 3, envisages development of two rail corridors of a total of around 300 km in the northern part of the state at an estimated cost of Rs.4,000 crore, said a statement Monday.
Ircon International is the construction arm of the Indian Railways.
Corridor-I, to be known as East Corridor, will be of 180 km from Bhupdevpur to Korba. The other corridor, to be called East West Corridor, will be of 122 km from Gevra Road to Pendra Road via Dipka, Katghora, Sindurgarh and Pasan.
