Aligarh: Today the students of Aligarh Muslim University held a protest after Friday prayers condemning the attacks on innocent Palestenian people by Israel and marking the victory of Palestine through ceasefire.
The protest March was attended by hundreds of students in solidarity with the affected people of Gaza where around 158 Palestinians and 6 Israelis were killed and injuring thousands of others.They condemned the attacks and raised slogans against Israel and its allies.
The organizer of the protest, Mohd. Mustafa Tayyab said that “We in the strongest words possible, condemn the heinous crime of the Israeli Government against humanity and the caretakers of humanity must not just boast about it, rather act and show us an example of it. We appreciate the efforts of President of Egypt Mohammad Morsi who intervened to help in ceasefire, which in a true sense is victory over tyranny.”
A copy of the memorandum addressed to the President of India was given to the District Magistrate in which the students demanded that the government must continue to support the cause of Palestine and speak up on humanitarian grounds for the innocents being killed. The peaceful solidarity march ended up at the Baab-e-Syed gate.
