Jharkhand speaker gets bail in poll code violation case

Ranchi: A Jharkhand court Saturday granted bail to state assembly Speaker C.P. Singh in a case of violation of model of code of conduct during a Ranchi bypoll.

Ranchi Chief Judicial Magistrate S.S. Hussain granted bail to Singh on a surety bond of Rs.5,000.

The Jharkhand assembly speaker was charged with violating the model code of conduct before the assembly by-election in Ranchi’s Hatia constituency by inaugurating a drainage project in the area. The Hatia bypoll was conducted in August this year.
