Bhubaneswar : A six-member team of a central commission probing the allegations of illegal mining Wednesday examined the official records related to mining activities in Odisha, an official said.
The Justice M.B. Shah Commission of enquiry team who reached here earlier of the day also held a meeting with senior officials of the concerned departments before going into the details of the records.
“This is our second visit to the state. We are examining the files connected to mining,” U.V. Singh, head of the team told reporters adding the team may visit some mining sites in the state if required.
The M.B. Shah Commission appointed by the central government in November 2010, has been investigating into the allegations of illegal mining in several mineral rich states.
An eight-member commission team had earlier visited several mining area of Odisha in December last year. The commission at that time had said it found evidences of illegalities in the state which would not have been possible without the connivance of the bureaucrats.
