Congress rejects probe in allegations against Vadra

New Delhi: The Congress Saturday rejected the opposition’s demand for a probe against Robert Vadra, son-in-law of party chief Sonia Gandhi, after activists Arvind Kejriwal and Prashant Bhushan alleged the businessman received favours from real estate major DLF.

“An inquiry into what? Is a business transaction between two private entities duly reported to the statutory authorities illegal? Is it a crime?”, Congress spokesperson Manish Tewari told reporters.

Tewari alleged the activists were acting as a ‘B’ team of the BJP. The BJP and the CPI-M have demanded a probe into the matter. Anna Hazare has also asked for a judicial probe.

On Kejriwal daring Vadra to file a defamation case against him, Tewari said the Congress “does not need advice from a person who is making charges to further his politics”.
