“We are investing Rs.150 crore from September to November on marketing activities. This festive season, we are confident of achieving 50 percent increase over our last year’s festive season sales taking it to Rs.2,850 crore,” Kenichiro Hibi, managing director, Sony India, told reporters here.

The company launched a range of premium products across different categories, including 84 inch BRAVIA LCD TV, personal 3D viewer head-mounted display, touch screen VAIO and interchangeable lens camera ranging between Rs.34,990 and Rs.1,699,900.

It is also targeting to increase sales outlets to around 16,000 stores from the current 10,400 centres.

Hibi also said that the firm was pretty bullish about mobile phones, personal computers and LCD segments specifically this festive season. “These three are the basic pillars,” he said.

The company is expecting a 35-40 percent jump in overall revenue in the current financial year.
