“We are evolving a national corporate governance policy … within two months it will come,” Moily told reporters at an event here.

He said corporate governance today is a strategic necessity, and research has revealed companies which demonstrate good governance practices are able to secure investments and talent.

He was speaking at an event on value creation with good corporate governance, at the Sustainability and Inclusive Solutions: Summit and Exhibition organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry CII-ITC Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Development.

Moily said the days are not far off when every corporate organisation will come out and say sustainable development is good business.

Bhaskar Chatterjee, director general and chief executive officer, Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs [IICA], said value creation and corporate governance are intertwined, and forms a triad when combined with sustainability.
