New Delhi : It will be a cloudy day in the capital Wednesday on Dussehra with no forecast of rains, the Met office said.
“The skies will be cloudy but there are no chances of rain The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 30 degrees Celsius,” said the India Meteorological Department.
Delhi was Tuesday lashed by heavy rains accompanied by strong winds after witnessing days of pleasant, sunny weather.
The city received a total of 8.1 mm of rainfall from 8.30 a.m. Tuesday to 8:30 a.m. Wednesday. As a result, minimum temperature was recorded a notch below average at 16.4 degrees Celsius.
The sudden downpour that began Tuesday afternoon damaged some effigies of Ravana, Meghnada and Kumbhkarana at several Ramlila grounds as worried organisers worked overtime to repair them.
Tuesday’s maximum and minimum temperatures were, respectively, recorded at 31.8 and 17.4 degrees Celsius — both average for this time for year.
