The cabinet list was removed from the websites pmindia.gov.in and pmindia.nic.in in July this year post the controversy over who is the number two in the government following then finance minister Pranab Mukherjee’s elevation as the president of India.

The two websites – mirroring each other – continued to have the old list of ministers of state with independent charge and ministers of state online as of 6 p.m. Sunday.

The cabinet list is, anyway, missing from the sites for the last three months now.

The prime minister inducted 17 new faces into his council of ministers, and elevated five from the previous council to the cabinet rank.

This reshuffle is considered to be the largest ever by the two United Progressive Alliance governments since 2004 and the prime minister said “hopefully” thia would be the last before the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.
