In a statement issued Saturday, Toyota Kirloskar said it sold 13,995 units last month, up form 11,679 units sold in August 2011.

“We have registered a growth this month based on good sales of Etios, Innova and Fortuner. We launched the All New Camry last month and have received an overwhelming response with 111 orders,” said Sandeep Singh, deputy managing director, marketing.

According to him, the local production of Camry will help the company to cater to more customers in this segment.

The company sold 5,698 Etios models, 6,439 Innovas, 1,289 Fortuners, 60 Camrys and 492 Corolla Altis.

“We have announced the revision in prices of all our models by around 1.5 percent due to the impact of rupee depreciation. This will be effective from Sept 1, 2012. We contained the rise in costs for as long as we could, but are now forced to pass it on to our customers.”
