Beijing : China has launched its first military academy website for which a trial was held this past week.
The website — www.cdsndu.org — of the College of Defence Studies of the National Defence University (NDU) of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) will highlight a good image of the Chinese army, People’s Daily reported Tuesday.
A trial operation ceremony for the website was held Sep 14. The site’s content is available in five languages — Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish.
The foreign versions are based on the Chinese edition with more consideration for cultural background and reading habits of overseas netizens.
The College of Defence Studies of the NDU is the highest organisation of China’s foreign military training.
Nearly 500 senior officers and government defence officials from 100-odd countries and regions come to the college for study and military exchanges every year. So far, more than 4,000 students have graduated from the college.
