Beijing : China and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) have launched a plan to boost cooperation in the fields of science and technology.
The plan was unveiled during the China-ASEAN expo in Guangxi Zhuang region’s Nanning city Saturday. About 300 entrepreneurs and officials participated.
The areas of cooperation include agriculture, disaster prevention, information and space technology.
“Science and technology are major powers for economic growth, and scientific cooperation has played a great role in solving important problems,” the China Daily quoted Brunei’s Development Minister Suyoi Haji Osman as saying.
The ASEAN groups Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
