New Delhi : Giving a fillip to Indo-German cooperation in science and technology, a unique platform set up by the German government to woo bright Indian minds is to set off on a roadshow through the Andhra Pradesh capital Hyderabad.
The German House for Research and Innovation in New Delhi (DWIH New Delhi) – a ‘one-stop shop’ for interested students, researchers and potential partner institutions – will launch its “Excellence Tour 2013” from April 26 in Hyderabad, an official said.
The tour will be in Hyderabad from April 26-May 3 at the Muffakham Jah College of Engineering and Technology in Banjara Hills. The event is being supported by the Andhra Pradesh government, the Goethe-Zentrum and the Sultan-ul-Uloom Education Society.
German Ambassador Michael Steiner said: “Indo-German cooperation in science and technology is a defining pillar of our bilateral relationship… We want to reach out to young bright Indian minds in Delhi, but also beyond the nation’s capital.”
The Excellence Tour would provide first-hand information and experience on studying and doing research in Germany, an official said.
The tour will also travel to Ahmedabad and Kolkata later this year. The sessions will consist of exhibitions, workshops, lectures, symposiums, quizzes and cultural events to highlight Indo-German research collaboration to the audience.
