AIUDF organizes protest rally against Cheat Fund scam in Kolkata

Kolkata: West Bengal Unit of All India United Democratic Front organized a protest rally against the Cheat Fund organization activities on 24 April, 2013 in Kolkata. The rally, headed by AIUDF state President Maulana Siddiqullah Chowdhury, started from College Square, Kolkata around 2 pm. The protest rally ended at Rani Rasmoni Avenue, Esplanade and held a protest convention.

AIUDF state president Maulana Siddiqullah Chowdhury said, “Lot of poor people lost their money after depositing it in the Chit fund of `Saradha’ Group. This is a scam of more than thousand crore.”

People in general have been cheated by the fraud company, he added. There have been instances of people committing suicide when all their life savings seem to have wasted and lost forever.

He also reiterated that the state investigating agencies cannot do an impartial enquiry and hence the case must be handed over to the CBI.



Former MP Dipak Ghosh questioned the ‘affinity’ of some of the leaders of the TMC with the the chit fund group.

Retired Professor of Jadavpur University and eminent educationalist Sunanda Sanyal, Treasurer of state AIUDF Md Elias, State Vice President of AIUDF Zameerul Hassan, Advocate Anisur Rahman and many others personalities also participated in the protest rally and delivered speeches.
