Kolkata: President Pranab Mukherjee will embark on a three-day visit to West Bengal beginning Friday, and participate in the concluding ceremony of the platinum jubilee celebrations of the state legislative assembly.
Besides the assembly jubilee celebrations, Mukherjee will Friday attend a felicitation function organised by the Nayaprajanma and Suri Sabujer Abhijan at Suri, Birbhum district.
The president will also inaugurate the Youth Science Congress organised by the M.S. Swaminathan Foundation at Visva Bharati, Santiniketan.
The new Bhasha-Vidya Bhavan (School of Languages) will be inaugurated by the president Dec 7. He will also attend the convocation function of Visva Bharati University.
President Mukherjee will also address teachers and students of the centre of the Aligarh Muslim University in the state, at Jangipur in Murshidabad district.
He will witness the final of the K.K.M. Memorial Rural Football Tournament, organised in honour of his father Kamoda Kinkor Mukhopadhayay, and lay the foundation stone of a sports academy at Mackenzie Park, Jangipur.
