The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) activists were stopped by police near Janpath while they were marching towards Gandhi’s residence in central Delhi’s Tughlak Lane.

The protestors raised slogans against Gandhi and accused him of maintaining double standards by giving a clean chit to former Maharashtra chief minister Ashok Chavan.

“On one side, he (Rahul Gandhi) talks about corruption eradication while on the other, he saved Chavan who was accused of such a large scam,” BJYM member Nitin Batri told IANS.

Police took a few of the members to the parliament police station and later let them go.

Maharashtra Governor K. Sankaranarayanan has rejected a request of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to prosecute Chavan, who was named for criminal conspiracy, misconduct and cheating under the provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act in the Adarsh scam.

He was forced to relinquish office after news of the scam broke out in October 2010.
