“All government engineers from the level of assistant engineers to engineer-in-chief of several departments including road construction, water resources and rural development went on an indefinite strike,” said Rajeshwar Mishra, general secretary of the Bihar Engineering Services Association.

Mishra said the decision to go on strike was taken in view of the state government’s apathy towards their demands, which includes a revised pay scale according to the Sixth Pay Commission of the central government.
