Raipur : Chhattisgarh’s per capita income, at current prices, is estimated at Rs.52,689 in 2012-13, an increase of about 13 percent against Rs.46,743 in 2011-12, Chief Minister Raman Singh informed state assembly Friday while tabling the economic survey for fiscal 2013-14.
Raman Singh, who is heading the BJP government in the mineral-rich state since December 2003, also holds the finance portfolio.
The economic survey, released a day ahead of the budget presentation Saturday, said Chhattisgarh’s economy is expected to grow at 8.57 percent and is likely to be Rs.91,933 crore in current fiscal year (GSDP at constant prices 2004-05).
According to the survey report, the service sector is likely to grow by 12.06 percent in 2012-13, as against 10.72 percent in 2011-12. The services sector consists of real estate, ownership of dwellings and business services and banking and insurance among others.
The industry sector in the state, which has about one-fifth of India’s iron ore and coal assets, is estimated to register a growth of 6.74 percent in 2012-13. It had registered a growth of 7.08 percent in 2011-12.
