Hyderabad: Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde refused to name any group involved in the twin bomb blasts in Hyderabad and said that National Security Agency (NIA) and other agencies are investigating. Shinde was speaking to reporters after visiting blasts site in Dilsukhnagar area where in two bomb blast on Thursday evening in which at least 14 people were killed and more than 70 people injured.
Shinde, who flew down here early this morning from New Delhi, in a special flight, straight went to blast site. He was accompanied by State Governor EL Narsimhan, Chief Minister K. Kiran Kumar Reddy, state Home minister Sabita Indira Reddy and top police officials.
Director General of Police V .Dinesh Reddy briefed the Union Home Minister about the incident and follow up investigation. Shinde, later visited the Osmania General Hospital where injured people are being treated and talked to some of them.
The Chief Minister K. Kiran Kumar Reddy informed MHA that state government already announced an ex gratia of Rs. 6 lakhs to family of each deceased and Rs.1 lakh to seriously injured and Rs.50000 to injured persons. The government will bear the expenses of treatment, he added.
Union Home Minister who came along with Union Home Secretary N. K. Singh before leaving Hyderabad held a meeting with top officials of the state government and NSA.
Meanwhile Police identified 8 out of 14 people died in the blast. Among them were Mohammed Rafeeq, Aijaz Ahmed, A Ramulu, T. R. Shivani . G. Tirupati, Vijay Kumar, M. Raju and Srinvas Reddy.
Both Hyderabad and Cyberabad police have set up special cell at their control room to help the people in finding any missing relative or friend. Police is making arrangement for the peaceful funerals for the deceased. Extra security arrangements have been made at Mecca Masjid and all other mosques in the city in view of Friday prayers.
