This complain in Bangalore was filed against Owaisi for his alleged hate speeches at Nizamabad and Nirmal town, which led to his arrest and imprisonment in jail for 40 days. In Bangalore, a case under sections 153, 153(A), 298 and 500 of Indian Penal Code is registered against Akbaruddin Owaisi.

Owaisi is currently on conditional bail but attending court hearings in Adilabad and Nizamabad districts regularly.

The Banjara Hills police station under which Owaisi’s residence comes, received directions from the Bangalore court. The Sub-Inspector of Banjara Hills Syed Nayeemullah served Bangalore court summons at Owaisi’s residence. The summons ordered Owaisi to present himself before Bangalore court on February 23.

MIM earlier has described booking of cases against its leader in different parts of the country as illegal, because hate speech cases are already under investigation in the local police stations where speeches were made.

It is still not clear whether Owaisi will obey the summons and produce himself before the magistrate in Bangalore. Akbaruddin Owaisi has earlier approached Andhra Pradesh high court appealing for quashing of cases registered against him for his alleged hate speech in different parts of India other than Nizamabad and Nirmal town. High court is yet to take any decision on his appeal.
