Fire in Delhi market

New Delhi: A minor fire broke out Friday evening in a Delhi market but was doused in an hour, a fire officer said. No one was injured in the incident.

“The fire department received a call around 5.15 p.m. from Lila Ram market near South Extension part-2,” said an officer of the Delhi Fire Service.

As many as eight fire tenders were rushed to the spot and took an hour to douse the fire, the officer said.

“The cause of the fire is stated to be an electrical short-circuit in a shop located on the ground floor of the multi-storey building,” added the officer.
