The special court dealing with Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) cases directed the former vice chairman and managing director of the state-owned Andhra Pradesh Mineral Development Corporation (APMDC) to deposit two sureties of Rs.50,000. The court also directed him to surrender his passport and appear before the CBI twice every week.

The court also asked Rajagopal not to interfere with the investigations into the case.

He was arrested by the CBI on Nov 12, 2011 and he was since lodged in Chanchalguda Central Jail here.

Rajagopal allegedly played a key role in granting mining leases to Obulapuram Mining Company (OMC) owned by Janardhana Reddy for iron ore mining in Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh in 2005.

Janardhana Reddy, OMC managing director B.V. Srinivasa Reddy and Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Y. Srilakshmi are the other accused who are still in jail.
